How to Plan a Trip

My name is Taylor Taverna and traveling is what I do best. I have explored over 70 countries and countless cities around the globe, many of which I have traveled to as a solo female traveler. My goal is to make traveling a reality for you! Traveling can be one of life’s most rewarding experiences, and planned correctly it can be possible for a wide range of budgets. Over the years I have built up a following on social media, which has allowed me to work with awesome travel and lifestyle brands, while continuing to travel.
On my blog you’ll find the best tips and tricks for traveling the world on a budget. I detail the best places to stay, where to eat, and the best things to do for your adventures around the world.
The daughter of a flight attendant, I think I was simply born with travel in my blood. At the young age of 7, I started spending my summers abroad in Germany at a sleepaway camp. From there the traveling simply never stopped. Over the years I have taken every opportunity that I can to see and explore more of this incredible world.
Answering the question of my favorite country is always a tough one, but Nepal always seems to come at the top of the list. The 11 day round trip hike to Annapurna Base Camp from Kathmandu was easily one of my best adventures to date. If you’re looking for a travel destination that will challenge you physically and mentally, book your next adventure to Nepal.
Mexico is easily one of the most diverse countries in the world, with some many incredible cities to explore. From the cobblestone streets of San Miguel de Allende and colorful homes of Guanajuato, to the beaches and crystal-clear cenotes of Tulum and Valladolid on the Yucatan Peninsula. And don’t forget the history and food scene in Mexico City.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t always love Italy. In fact, there was a period of time after living there at the age of 18 that I wasn’t even sure if I like it. But then I fell in love. I fell in love with the brightly colored houses on the coast line. With the jagged mountains and rolling green hills of the north. To the windy roads of wine lovers paradise in the countryside. And, of course, with the incredible cuisine. Italy is the perfect destination for mixing luxury and adventure in one!
I quite literally planned a trip to Georgia after a very good bottle of Georgian wine on a warm NYC rooftop night. Georgia is the perfect destination for you if you love wine, delicious food, and striking mountain views. The country has so much to offer from the artsy wine of Tbilisi, to the striking mountains of Kazbegi and Juta. And of course, you’ll get your fill of wine as you wander through the wine country of Kakheti.
I am a budget traveler at heart. This means that I love finding ways to stretch my dollar so I can travel for longer for less. Here are a few of my best tips for budget-friendly travel:
